Medical Disabilities

This section of the course offers detailed explanations of four major kinds of medical disability that web content developers must take into account when developing websites.

  • Vision Impairment
  • Hearing Impairment
  • Mobility Impairment
  • Cognitive Impairment*

Please treat this section as much as a reference as a training guide. In other words, you do not need to memorize every detail provided here, but by all means bookmark this section in your browser so you can come back to it as needed.

* - We do not have a page on general cognitive impairment built at this time, but we have provided a page on one type of cognitive impairment: dyslexia. While more narrowly scoped, the information provided on Dyslexia is a great starting point towards understanding how to accomodate all kinds of cognitive impairments.
